Agilent E1459A VXI Module

The Agilent E1459A is a 64-Channel, 1-Slot, C-Size, Register Based Digital Input/Interrupt VXI Module. This module is mostly used in the detection of edge transitions and DC levels up to 48 Vdc. With this model, all inputs are isolated optically to endure up to 125 V rms. In addition, the user can detect the open or closed position of external switches by using this module’s 5 V supply and 9.4 kΩ effective pull-up resistance. The Agilent E1459A comes featured with the programmability of the debounce feature in binary increments for periods of 16 μs to 1074 s. The channel groups 1 to 32 and channel groups 33 to 64 each can have a unique and programmed debounce period.  The Agilent E1459A is designed to supply 4.5 to 5.5 Vdc (at 32 mA total maximum).

With the Agilent E1459A, the user can select the input threshold for each channel by means of a jumper. This could also be done for high logic level inputs from 5 to 48 volts. In addition, each channel can be masked individually to generate an interrupt on either a positive or negative edge transition. To prevent erroneous transition detection, the channel’s inputs are also “debounced”. The Agilent E1459A comes with two clock sources (programmable) to control the incorporated debounce circuitry. This VXI module monitors each channel for the occurrence of transitions simultaneously. Each channel of the Agilent E1459A remains electrically isolated from all the other channels ground, power, and other current paths.
