Keysight 89605B VXIbus Input Module

The 89605B VXIbus Input Module designed by Keysight is used in combination with the 89600 series of analyzers. The 89611, 89640, and 89641 Two-channel IF analyzer models need an 89605B module for channel 2; the first channel can have either an 89605A or B connected. A piece of information to keep in mind is that the Keysight 89605B model needs one 89605-61691 cable, along with one 89605-61693 cable.

The Keysight 89605B accepts a baseband input signal and lets it go through a 0-to-50 dB attenuator. While in baseband mode, the signal from the Ch 1 input connector will be joined to the E1439 module. The higher frequency band’s signal is taken from the IF Out connector to the E1439 module. The signal path will be stopped so the calibrator can add a calibration signal, which will then be multiplied to become equivalent with the E1439 sampling rate. Also, the 89605B will give a 10 MHz reference signal to the E1439. An extra 10 MHz Ref output can be used on the front of the module to join other models in the user’s measurement setup. An additional feature that is only applicable to the Keysight 89605B is that a 10 MHz or 13 MHz reference signal can be connected to the Ext Reference In connector.

The safest way to transport the Keysight 89605B is by using the original factory packaging or something identical. Pellets can cause static electricity which can harm electronic components; they should be avoided as packing material for the module because they will not sufficiently shield it or stop it from moving around.
