Agilent E5281B SMU Module

The Agilent E5281B is a Medium Power Source Measurement Unit designed to work with the 8-Slot E5270B Precision Measurement Mainframe. This model offers precise measurement and logging of voltage and current data. It collects information at an accuracy most suitable for semiconductor testing, current-voltage (I-V) characterization. The Agilent E5281B can also be used in the testing of devices with positive and negative values. This module offers 0.5 V voltage measurement resolution and 10 fA current measurement resolution. This model can also operate with 100 V maximum force voltage and 100 mA maximum force current.

 The E5281B is a module which can easily be inserted and disengaged from the Agilent E5270B measurement mainframe.   For receiving a remote sensing signal, a Kelvin connector is provided on the back side of the module. However, for connecting the force line a separate triaxial connector is also provided. This MPSMU is designed to operate normally with 10 Ω (maximum) cable resistance on Force and Sense Lines. It occupies one out of eight slots of the E5270B. In its standard configuration, the Agilent E5281B cannot be operated independently.

The entire operation of this component is controlled and managed by the mainframe. The combination of this medium power source measurement unit and the E5270B Mainframe is considered as an ideal one for pulse measurements. With this solution, the user can measure 500 μsec to 2 s wide pulses. The Agilent E5281B can be used alone or in conjunction with a high-power source measurement unit as well.
