HP 4945A Transmission Impairment Measuring Set

The HP 4945A is a Multi-Function Test Set designed to measure the quality of voice grade and wideband data communication channels. This model comes with 20 Hz to 110 Hz transmitter frequency range and 1 Hz from 20 Hz to 9999 Hz resolution.  The HP 4945A offers manual and automatic (single or repetitive) sweep, along with a step size which can be programmed from 10 Hz to 10 kHz in automatic mode. While operating in the manual sweep mode, the user can choose the appropriate step size from predefined levels, which includes: 10, 50, 100, and 1000 Hz.

 This instrument is known for its problem identification and isolation capabilities on high-speed data transmission circuits. The HP 4945A Transmission Impairment Measuring Set can be set vertically or horizontally, since it has mounting feet on the right sight and the back panel. For use on 4-wire circuits, this model comes with master-slave provisions. The receiver operates in a frequency range of 20 Hz to 110 kHz. The receiver level range is -60 to +13 dBm. The HP 4945A is an efficient instrument, since it can operate with optimum return loss values.

The HP 4945A comes equipped with an RS-232C interface as well. This interface enables the instrument to be remotely controlled from a supported and adequately configured external device. The RS-232C also allows the model to control other compatible devices such as printers. For displaying results, this model features a nonglare CRT. A membrane switch type keyboard is also provided on the front panel as the primary input device.
