Keysight E4437B Digital RF Signal Generator

Featured with high spectral purity, the E4437B is a Digital RF signal Generator from Keysight. This model is designed to operate within a frequency range of 250 kHz to 4 GHz and is best known for its enhanced phase noise performance. The E4437B is I/Q capable since it can accept an "I" input either for wideband AM or I/Q modulation. In addition, this model can accept a “Q” input at 50 ohms nominal input impedance for I/Q modulation. To synchronize inputting serial data, the Keysight E4437B accepts a CMOS synchronization signal.

For remote programming, this Signal Generator comes equipped with GPIB (with listen and talk functionality) and RS-232 interfaces. Users are allowed to have all of the front panel functions controlled remotely, except the knob and power switch. As far as the supported languages are concerned, this instrument is compatible with SCPI version 1992.0, 8657 (7A/B/C/D/J mnemonics), as well as with the 8656B. The IEEE-488 functions (GPIB Interface) supported include: TE0, L4, RL1, PP0, DC1, C0, E2, SH1, AH1, etc.

The Keysight E4437B features a type-N female connector to deliver a nominal output at 50 ohms impedance. The LF output connector is a BNC, which delivers the internally generated LF source. The E4437B provides a shared memory for user data files, instrument states, waveform sequences, and list files. Depending on the size and number of these files, the storage of 10 register sequences and 800 storage registers are available. With this model, the user can have all modulation types enabled simultaneously with only a few exceptions.
