Keysight E4400A Analog RF Signal Generator

The Keysight E4400A is a 250 kHz to 1000 MHz RF Signal Generator. This model features <45 m switching speed, 2 ms to 60 sec dwell time, and 2 to 401 internal reference oscillator points. It comes with excellent level and frequency control and broad modulation capabilities. The innovative design of the Keysight E4400A makes it capable of meeting the challenging requirements of a local oscillator, component test, and receiver test applications at a lower cost. This model can be used for two years without the need of going through the calibration process.

This signal generator has an EXT 1 INPUT Connector and an EXT 2 INPUT Connector, provided on its front panel. These connectors are BNC input connectors by type. There is an LF OUTPUT connector which is used for modulation signals being generated by any LF source function generator. The front panel of this instrument comes with powerful control features. The combination of a numeric keypad, arrow keys, and a knob allows the user to manipulate values quickly.

The Keysight E4400A can be operated in three modes: Amplitude Step, Arbitrary List, and Frequency Step. This signal generator is designed to receive a timebase reference input at 1, 2, 5, 10 MHz ± typically 10 ppm frequency, > 0.15 Vrms amplitude and 50Ω input impedance. While operating in a range of 250 kHz to 1000 MHz, this model generates an output of +13 to −136 dBm with 23 dB attenuator hold level range. With this model, the user can also save and recall any instrument display, since it comes with internal memory registers.
