Keysight 8780A Vector Signal Generator
Featured with 10 MHz to 3 GHz range, the 8780A is a Vector Signal Generator from Keysight. This model offers pulse modulation with as low as 1 ns rise times and 700 MHz modulation bandwidth. Moreover, it also has a wideband FM capability for greater than 200 MHz p-p deviations. This synthesized IF source comes with tremendous modulation capabilities for modern components and especially modern receiver testing. The HP 8780A is a robust model with around 100 times wider modulation bandwidths than previous models. To simplify the generation of various common digital modulation formats, this model comes with an internal mapping feature.
The addition of an unmodulated coherent carrier output complements the wideband modulation of this Vector Signal Generator for test signal demodulation. This model can provide a wide range of modulation using both analog and digital inputs. It tends to generate a broad range of modulation formats like 16 QAM and QPSK and other traditional modulation formats, such as AM, FM, and pulse.
