HP Agilent Keysight 8753D Network Analyzer

The HP Agilent Keysight 8753D Network Analyzer has a frequency range from 30 kHz to 3 GHz, which can be extended to 6 GHz with Option 006, a resolution of 1 Hz, power range of -85 to +10 dBm, and a maximum input level of 10 dBm. This model has a built-in S-parameter test set, which gives the user forward and reverse measurements, enabling them to fully characterize their instrument with one connection. There is also a built-in 3.5 inch floppy disk drive for saving data and instrument states.

The 8753D Network Analyzer has two display channels. Every display channel has four markers which can be shown at the same time. Markers can designate data at data points or they can interpose among data points to enable the setting of a marker at a precise frequency. For delta marker operation, it does not matter which marker is chosen as the reference marker.

The 8753D can produce, edit, record, or recall a series of keystrokes from the front-panel to start an automatic measurement. The six sequence registers can each store around 200 instructions. In order to produce or edit a sequence, simply select the sequence menu and initiate the front-panel keystrokes that would make a manual measurement. Test sequences can be comprised of simple stimulus and measurement functions, advanced operations, and simple logical branching. Once sequences are finalized, they are recorded and can be initiated when the user would like to duplicate the test.

This model also has various calibration and verification kits, along with other accessories. These descriptions and part numbers can be located in the user manual located on the apexwaves.com

HP Agilent Keysight 8753D Network Analyzer- FAQ:

Question:

What are the specifications of the auxiliary input of the 8753D Network Analyzer?

Answer:

The auxiliary input on the 8753D Network Analyzer has an input specification of plus or minus 10 Vdc. Any other characteristics are not stated (ex: accuracy, sensitivity, resolution). The input will accept a frequency signal of 4 kHz. The auxiliary input for this model cannot be changed to increase the precision or sensitivity.

Question:

Is it possible to mate SMA connectors with 3.5 mm connectors when using the 8753D Network Analyzer?

Answer:

Yes, but linking an SMA male to a 3.5 mm female can result in damage. SMA female connectors can be linked with 3.5 mm male connectors without resulting in damage.

Question:

Which upgrade kit is necessary to upgrade the 8753D to 6 GHz?

Answer:

11884B is the upgrade kit for the 8753D, but 1184C should be ordered for the 8753D with option 011. These kits will not work with Option 075.

Question:

Is it possible to use the 8753D Network Analyzer with the 11608A Transistor Test Fixture?

Answer:

Yes, these two models can be used together.

Question:

How do I know if I am sweeping too quickly with my 8753D Network Analyzer?

Answer:

If the displayed data is altered when you change the sweep speed, you are probably sweeping too quickly. The best solution is to lower the sweep speed until the results are not altered.
