Keysight 83640L Synthesized Swept-CW Generator

The Keysight 83640L is a 10 MHz to 40 GHz, Synthesized Swept-CW Generator from the 8360 L-Series. This model is a complete analog sweeper, which offers +10 dBm calibrated output power. The 83640L provides direct access to CW operation through its front panel keys. The CW mode is considered as a primary function of CW Swept Generators in which the generator produces low noise, single, synthesized frequency. Besides this, the user can also operate their instrument in start/stop frequency sweep mode. In this mode, the Keysight 83640L will produce a sweep from the chosen start frequency to the stop frequency selected. The center frequency/span function is another way available for the establishment of swept operation with the Keysight 83640L.

 This CW Generator comes equipped with an internal modulation regulator. With this modulation generator, the instrument can achieve simultaneous pulse and amplitude modulation to scan for radar, simulate an antenna, and for EW receiver testing as well. The self-test function of the Keysight 83640L isolates around 95% of instrument failures with more than 280 internal self-tests.  With this instrument, the user can utilize standardized programming languages, such as CIIL analyzer language and SCPI. Thus, the 83640L can bring significant savings concerning time and money, since it eliminates the requirement of software development.
