Keysight 83623A Synthesized Sweeper

The Keysight 83623A is a 10 MHz - 20 GHz, High Power Synthesized Sweeper. This model is designed to provide +17 dBm maximum power and as low as -76 dBc phase noise (20 GHz at 10 KHz). For two-tone measurements, the 83623A offers accurate swept and fixed frequency offset. In power level operation, the Keysight 83623A can produce leveled power for swept frequency, power sweep operation, or CW.

This model offers a sweep time operation mode to cater to the sweep time variations issue usually encountered in typical applications. There is a manual sweep mode provided as well, which enables the user to either sweep to sweep power or from the start to the stop frequency. In addition, this Sweeper comes featured with five frequency markers. These markers can be used as variable frequency pointers or as fixed frequency "landmarks" on a CRT display.

For saving different instrument states, the Keysight 83623A has eight registers numbered 1 through 8. The register 0 is dedicatedly used for storing the last instrument state before the unit is powered off. When power is resumed, the control system of this Synthesized Sweeper automatically recalls register 0 and the previous instrument state is re-established.

Externally leveled operations are also possible with the Keysight 83623A. An external sensor detects the output power from the unit in externally leveled operations. The output of the detector utilized is routed to the leveling circuitry and in this way the output power is adjusted automatically to keep power constant and stable at the point of detection.
